Anecdotes don't win arguments

Anecdotes don't win arguments

From State of Product 2027, the hardest parts of using feedback:

  • 43% have no standardized process
  • 39% struggle to identify the biggest opportunity
  • 37% say feedback is anecdotal or not tied to evidence

One loud customer is an anecdote. Forty customers describing the same problem, linked to their actual cases, is a priority.

The difference is structure: capture consistently, cluster related signals into needs, and keep the source attached.

Source: Atlassian, State of Product 2027. Methodology: Wakefield Research, 1,000 respondents across the US, Germany and France, surveyed August 2026.
